Final product
Application
It can be consumed as a standalone plant-based drink, and it can also be used in the preparation of various dishes and beverages, including those that require thermal processing.
The main downside of powdered plant-based drinks is the high starch content in the final product. This results from using grains, sprouted seeds, or wet grinding technology in acidified water. In some products, starch is added deliberately. If heated, such a drink turns into a jelly-like mass.
For this reason, powdered non-dairy milk is typically only consumed as a standalone drink.
